Jekyll Isalnd/Golden Isles

*3rd Place in Americana

This picture depicts the  tranquility of the trees that are constantly being eroded away by time, wind, water, and sand. During the 19th and 20th century of early American history, Jekyll Island was considered a southern luxury for plantation owners to build mansions for their family and show off their southern prosperity. Today, Jekyll Island is known as the “Golden Isles” because of the preserved and rich history of plantations and their beaches shine every day at any given moment with the colors of  pink, purple, blue gray, navy, and red but most importantly  the “golden” rays of the sun that shine upon the preserved Isles of the Georgia coast.
